what do you need to change in your site to accommodate an affiliate program?

we are considering adding a formal affiliate program, but want to make sure we do it right. ie no traffic leaks, etc.

so our main url is not going to be changed, but we are going to have a separate affiliate link url that will not have any outbound links, or anything going outbound pops up in its own browser

anything else we need to change? suggestions appreciated

 

affiliates hate traffic leaks, make sure there is no way to leave the site

 

Remove any phone numbers and make sure you have a good backend tracking system for the affiliates. Other then that there isnt much you need to do to get started. Just install a good tracking software and you should be good to go.
