    Hi everybody,

Can it be that a website used to have 400 pages indexed in google, and recently it Dropped to only 220? the website is new.

Did google punish me for any reason or is it just a natural process and the pages will be reindexed again soon?

Can't wait to hear your answer.

    Thanks.

If you don't have sustainable amount of backlinks coming in to your site then Google will start dropping less important pages.

should i create backlinks for each and every single page in my website? Or do you mean that i should maintain big quantity of backlinks to the domain itself?

You don't have to create backlinks to every page of your website, but it would help to create some backlinks to some pages other than home page.

Also you might want to try and make sure that the website's inner linking structure allows good PR flow. That means if possible don't link a page only from another page, but from 2-3 others (ofc depending on website this might or might not be possible)

The number of pages reported seems to fluctuate quite frequently as of late. Are you checking within tools or using the site command?

I think they're tweaking dcs among other things. As others have said it may just be G has deemed the pages are redundant. Fluctuations of +/- 30 percent seem pretty normal though for sites I follow.

I faced the same issue a few weeks back...just keep submitting backlinks and it seem to balance out.
