    I think one of the saddest movies I've seen was The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) with Will Smith. It was not an all out cry festival but it had a few moments (strong ones) where you actually feel very sad for the two leading characters. Will Smith was actually nominated for an Oscar (Best Leading Role) for this movie, never thought he had it in him :)
