I don't think it really matters. The SE have Squidoo pegged for what it really is. They know that a few links from Squidoo doesn't mean a page is great. So it's not going to give you a whole lot of redibility whether there's a nofollow tag or not.
Yes. They are only NoFollow if a lens is in WIP (Work in Progress) status. All newly published lenses start in WIP mode until after there is a Squidoo LensRank update (which usually happens daily). A lens will stay in WIP if it has less than three modules (not including the introduction and guestbook modules).
As far as I know they are. That has been one of the main purposes of Squidoo: to provide an opportunity for people to develop quality backlinks and funnel traffic to their sites. It's not like Wikipedia where they are, and need to be, strict in not allowing people to use the site to build backlinks from a quality domain. Why the links have not shown in Yahoo Site Explorer? Maybe your lens was created too recently.
My Squidoo lenses all show up in my Yahoo results but sometimes they take a few weeks if the lens is new. Also getting some backlinks to your Squidoo lens will help it get indexed and also help you dominate the engines for your keywords. Dan
