What are the 10 most important + best plug ins I should install 5. How do I add the feedburner stats? 6. Where can I get someone to make me a banner and 125x125 avatar and some other stuff? (here or somewhere else?) (If here then where do I post?) 7. Should I have a splash/welcome page first or just put the homepage as the blog homepage? 8. Anything else I should know as this is the first time I am setting up my own Wordpress blog on my own domain... Thanks Crazysah

Many questions, I have some quick answers for you and I'm sure you'll get many more: 1. Themes - http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ 2. Not too sure about this one!! 3. Adding a theme is easy. You download it to your desktop, unzip it and upload the folder to the wp-content/themes/ folder in your wp install. After that, go into your admin dashboard under Design and you should see the new theme there. 4. My main one is Akismet. It comes installed, you just have to activate it. There are numerous others, but I'm not big on plugins, so I'll let others jump in here 5. Feedburner has a plugin that you can add to your blog once you burn your feed. All you have to do is create your feedburner account, burn your regular wordpress feed, note the new feedburner url, install the feedburner plugin and then activate it in your admin dashboard. It walks you through the process and the directions are easy to follow. 6. Post under services - there's a design section where you can get someone to do these things for you - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104 7. It entirely depends on your preference and what your site will be about. I personally find flash pages annoying, and people with slower connections will get impatient and may not wait for your main page to load. 8. Start with a trial install, maybe install it locally on your computer first, or get free hosting with a free subdomain and play around first so you get an idea of what to expect and get your feet wet before launching your own site on your domain Good luck!

If you're asking about the widget that shows how many subscribers you have, then my answer is that it is located within your Feedburner account in the Publicize tab called FeedCount. 6. You can always hire some freelance graphic designers here on DP. In fact, you can go to Contest section of this forum and start a contest on who can make the best banner/avatar. 7. Should I have a splash/welcome page first or just put the homepage as the blog homepage? Usually, for blogs, you should just have the blog's default homepage. A welcome page is a good idea to make, but not as your homepage. 8. Anything else I should know as this is the first time I am setting up my own Wordpress blog on my own domain... 2. Apparently when any new content is created its automatically copyrighted. 3. Easy, upload the theme, login, navigate to design, activate theme. 4. Askimet, all in one seo, sociable, google sitemaps, wp page navi.... 7. I wouldn't have a splash page. 8. Add unique content, update often.
