Busy Webmaster Community 10,000+ members - FOR SALE

Hey guys,

I am selling one of my communities. We are vbulletin + vbseo + vbulletin blogs + vbulletin project powered. We have 10,796 members (deleted 5000 zero post members about 4 months ago) - an average of 20+ new users a day.

20,165 threads, 137,393 posts (went on an old thread rampage not long back). average 20 threads a day, 70 posts.

Here are traffic stats:-


The site has a very large bounce rate (86%) but it is getting the traffic - I am sure the new owner could turn this around.

Average $14 per day in adsense, sometimes $20

textlinkads - $400 a month (recommend ditching these to recover PR hit explained below)

Upgraded accounts make up to around $100 a month - this could easily be improved.

I personally feel as though the site is badly monetised. Over the last 6 months I have rarely put any time into it... via the stats you can see that although the number of visits climbs every month the number of pageviews has gone down.

The site is busy enough and has some staff -not sure how they would take a switch in owner, but I think they would be glad someone can put some effort in. Needs a good overhaul and perhaps a better design.

I was making over $50 a day from the site in adsense alone at one point and perhaps with love and attention (something I cant give it these days) and some well thought out rejigging of ad placements it would make that, and more again. The potential exists for direct advertising revenue for anyone who can pick up the phone and sell. The site is still pretty busy and has a good market for many products and services aimed at web developers and designers.

Anyway, I'm not here to sell the site on it's potential alone as I guess it's current standing is the main factor.

I am open to offers and would dearly love it to go to someone who can really put the time in, love it and watch it flourish again, as it has for me when I've been around.

I won't let it go to just anybody, this has been my baby since 2003.

It currently has a PR0 (once a PR6) due to about 30 links in the footer which have now been removed (yeah, I shoulda known better I guess.) - just a mild slap on the wrist by google I think as serps are unaffected entirely. Of course, google may not have liked when I ditched the www sub-domain and redirected all traffic, who knows.

oh, btw... it's highly ranked in google. google sends around 127567 searches our way per month. It has TWO listings in DMOZ.

Estibot estimation is $12,000 based on traffic alone.

I am really forced to sell tbh... I have a custody battle for my kids going on (expensive), have client sites and another busy forum to look after and looking to move house before Christmas - I cant see things getting any easier and the more I neglect the site, the more downhill it goes.

Anyway, hopefully someone will be interested in making a reasonable offer in excess of $15K.

If you have little coding and programming experience, then this is NOT for you. Ideally you will have expert knowledge in some aspect of design / development -if you don't see yourself running a busy forum for web designs and web developers then definitely do not waste my time in pursuing this sale.

If you don't have a budget of at least $15k then save your time and my time by NOT pm'ing me for the URL.
