Yeah, that's what I was just thinking...

If someone figures out that one password, now they have access to everything!

I agree that it is the easiest thing.. but then definitelely not the best option...

you can make the pass as a function of the site , your name and so on..

I never store my passwords anywhere. They are all in my head. I'm good with numbers (and letters), so it's not a problem for me to remember like 20 passwords.

I try to memorize all of them, set those in that way.
Sometimes very important are stored in my mobile handset.
I switch between 4-5 passwords only.

KeePass is also available for Windows, PocketPC, MacOS X, BlackBerry, PalmOS, and as a PortableApps application.

It's free, and open source. I use it on my PortableApps USB stick and on my XP desktop. Rockin' :D :)

Better to write passwords in one notebook as I do regularly. If your computer (harddisk) goes faulty, it will be useful at that time.

I also keep my password in a txt file but for extra level of security, I will zip and encrypt with a password.

thanks for asking this question bro, this was on my mind from last couple of days, have created lot of email accounts, financial accounts, shopping, social networking and bla bla... cant remember all of them. i have been using roboform to handle this headache, but the risk of hard drive crash is still there, so have backed up my roboform backup on online storage, and have been looking for some online site where we can store our psswords and something like that,, but for the time reading your thread and learning from fellow members.

Written with a thick marker on my forehead! Here, in the left side is my DP password, can't you read it ? :D
I remember all my passwords and, if it happens to forget it, I count on password retrieval tools on the specific software/site.. Passwords are ment to be secret, writing them on paper/file/etc is lame :p

I usually save my passwords using igoogle. That way, wherever I go, I can open it. But still, I don't take chances and write them this way.

    username: guest********** (guest32)
    password: guessing************ (guessinggame)

and a of combination of suffix, prefix and the like.
