Want to seek for some opinions. I have some blogs and I am thinking of optimizing the home page. I have two options. 1. Create a "gateway page" so that I can create an article targeting for the keywords. Of course I will also try to link to some posts or pages of the blog directly on this page. 2. Leave it as it is. Using the wordpress index page and the home page will show the blogposts. The disadvantage will be it will be more difficult to control the keyword density since there are 15 posts on the home page. But the advantage will be that the home page will be updated whenever I create a new post. Does anyone here have experience on this and which one should be a better solution?
Hiya discuss4u If you install the "all in one seo" plugin and go to settings in your blog dashboard. Choose the "all in one seo" settings you can control exactly what description and keywords you want to show in your homepage regardless off what posts you have on there. Personaly I wouldn't want to put a gateway page on a blog because when I visit a blog I want to see exactly what kind of information they have and a gateway page may limit this. Another option is using a static front page but also have the links to your recent blog posts in your sidebar. I hope this helps Clare
Yep, I too would agree with Clare, gateway page would look bad, use static front page using optimized content on that page relating to your site's niche or your target market.
Oh. Thanks for the opinions and it is true. I forgot that I can create a static page in wordpress and set it as the home ...
