Report as much as you want but it is still a total rip off. DP mods wont remove it. Ofcourse they know it is a scam too. 35$ for unlimited traffic on 100mbit port? That is like 1$ for 1000gb monthly. 100mbit can transfer 32TB monthly like I told you before. Unlimited is the same as that amount. You say 1$ for 1000gb? TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! BE CAREFULL!!! Even DP doesnt get these bandwidth prices. SCAM !!!
no we have unlimited bandwidth from our provider! please stop posting I have requested this thread to be closed.
ONCE AGAIN UNLIMITED ON 100MBIT IS THE SAME AS 32TB. DO FUCKING MATHEMATICS. OH MY GOD YOU CALL YOUR SELF A HOST!!! 100mbit means 12.5 megabyte per second. 3600 seconds in one hour times 24hours in a day times 30 days in a month means 32TB = 33000GB TRAFFIC !!!!!! UNLIMITED CANNOT EVER TRANSFER MORE THAN THAT !! THE PRICING IS FAR TOO CHEAP ALSO 1$ for 1000gb traffic is far too low. Not even microsoft or google pay those prices. I hope everyone sees now this guy is a total scam. He did not even calculate or knows how to calculate bandwidth!!! Dont be ripped off!!
I know that and you need to calm down, we have unlimited bandwidth from our provider, and in basic terms unmetered or unlimited should mean 32 TB if its 100mbit Please stop posting to raise post count.
Guys - I moved this to it's own thread as I figured you could actually show us the math. When the host says unlimited bandwidth - what does that actually mean?
It's never unlimited , example when i contacted hostgator (because they offer unlimited web space) .... we can only have 50 000 inodes (files , folders , images , whatever) for the bandwidth ... they say there is no limit the only thing that might happen is that :
There no such thing as unlimited bandwidth.. U get those "deals" for 5 bucks.. so in theory Facebook could have a 5 dollar host... doesnt make sense..
unlimited is a fairy-tale told to newbies and new internet firms that thiÅŸnk anything unlimited would be better for the same price compared with a logical concept...
Lol... Sorry to bump this somewhat old topic, but a friend of mine put Unmetered vs Unlimited bandwidth this way: Whats the difference between real fruit, and made from real fruit? And yes, no such thing as unlimited bandwidth, you would have to pay hundreds if not thousands to get anything close to unlimited
1 of my dedi is with "surpasshosting" , i have approximately 1500 gb of transfer ... last month i used nearly 1000 gb of transfer and i get a bill of +15$ for Bandwidth Overages Bandwidth Overages September 1 2008 to September 30 2008 Allocation:4.5 Mbit Actual Usage:4.69Mbit Overage:0.19 Mbit x 75.000/Mbit = $14.250
I just found out from this thread that there is no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth". Its unfortunate that many companies make such outrageous and completly false advertising claims. I'm supprised they don't get sued for making flagerantly false advertisements.
They can't really, they have those AUP's and TOS's... I used to use a host that gave me 1TB bandwidth and 100GB space for like $4 a month I read the TOS and it stated pretty much they could shut down your site whenever they thought you were using to much resources or whatever... I never used more then 10GB bandwidth at the very most, so I never found out Since then though I have moved to a not overseller with like 100% uptime
There is unmetered, which means the traffic isn't counted, but you have a limit as to how much the pipe (link, network, physical ethernet port, etc) can handle. Unlimited does not exist. You can buy a bigger pipe, and keep getting a bigger pipe, but no such thing as unlimited.
