You'll be fine. I used to do long runs when I was your age. Carbo loading the night before is key.

I'm twice your age and recently had problems with achilles tendinitis. Changed my running shoes to an expensive but very well designed pair of running shoes from big N. Cured!

    Enjoy!

I have been having problems with the tops of my feet and the back of my knees hurting after I run. Do you think new shoes would help this? Where is the best place to get good running shoes from?

I used to run 3-4 miles. I was always more of a sprinter than I was a distance runner. Now that I am back into the weight lifting, I haven't been doing as much of the running. If only I had time to do both.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up making it all the way and not having to walk at all. My time was 1hour 56 mins. Thanks again for all your help.

It'd be annoying to carry the bottle :p

The most I've done was 13 in one day. The only thing I can say is not to go out hard. Go easy and stay relaxed as long as possible. Post back to let us know how it goes.

    I'm a runner. I do about 2 miles a day.

Last week I ran 1500 metres in 6 mins 20 secs. I was quite impressed. Far from olympic time, but something to build upon.

Anyone can run for an hour, it's all about the distance.

Hehe. When I was at school people averaged 7-8 mins and the good runners were 6 mins, so I think I did quite well.

One kid at my school does a mile in 4:24. It's insane. There are about 10 people on the team that have broken 5 for the mile though.

    I'm at 5:55

    do rope exercise man :)

    its good for you
and jumping and sit ups to strengthen your thigh muscles and make your arms and shoulders strong
have ya notice the more you move your arms the more you run fast
    sense this logic

Eat a banana or two before every run to prevent cramps. I'm a cross country and track runner, always worked for me!

Haha, my track & field team had so many of those "vomiting runners." I might have been one of them, I don't remember...
