Question about CJ link code

    Can you only use part of a link code? For example, if I generate this for a banner;

    <a href="http://www.dpbolvw.net/ne98uoxuowBFEDGGDIBDCGEIEIC" target="_blank" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.ediets.com/';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">
    <img src="http://www.awltovhc.com/n498o26v0zKONMPPMRKMLPNRNRL" alt="" border="0"/></a>

    and I need the URL for a button or whatever and copy this part only;

    <a href="http://www.dpbolvw.net/ne98uoxuowBFEDGGDIBDCGEIEIC" target="_blank" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.ediets.com/';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">
    <img src="http://www.awltovhc.com/n498o26v0zKONMPPMRKMLPNRNRL" alt="" border="0"/></a>

    Will it still give me credit or does the entire code have to be used?

    Thanks

    Yes you can. I'm sure somewhere in the CJ TOS it says you can't, but it works, and LOTS of us do it.

    But instead of selecting a banner link, you should select the advertisers default text link and use that. And add a SID too, so you know where the sales came from.

    Yes you can use it.

    But i would use the keyword link rather that the banner link.

    Thanks for the replies, so when I select a text link it looks like this;

    <a href="http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3214416-10406390" target="_top">eDiets.com</a>
    <img src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-3214416-10406390" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

    Now I could use the part that is highlighted in red to insert into a button on my site, like "click to visit" or whatever. Or should I use the other part of the code highlighted in green?
    Sorry to seem dense but I don't understand what the separate links within the code are for since its a text link..

    Thanks!

    You can use the red link without the use of the green URL (a 1x1 image for tracking impressions). Advertisers do not actually require that impression pixel, and I know for a fact that the advertiser you're dealing with is okay with just using the link, as long as your linked text is not misleading. Using the link itself will properly credit your account with any sales.

    Umm... what?

    CTR does not matter with text links.
