you can find many good web hosting providers but first should decide what you want : oversellers or non-oversellers Cpanel + Fantastico or DirectAdmin + Installatron are only few examples.
when it comes to registering domains, Godaddy is the best on the planet. when it comes to hosting, they suck balls. don't host with Godaddy. i maintain several hosting accounts for folks on Godaddy servers and their the worst. do yourself a favor and stay away from their hosting services.

i would love to be able to recommend a host, but i cannot. i have made recommendations in the past only to have it blow up in my face. so, maybe check out the Web Hosting section here at DP, you might find something your comfortable with.
Stay away from Godaddy, 1and1, Yahoo, etc. I used to be with Host Rocket two years ago and had been with them for two years before moving on and venturing onto the web hosting world.
