My name was misspelled on my ballot! I filled out a form to have it corrected and was told that it would not affect my, however I just read this article and I am very concerned! I do not think this is a coinsidence!!! You see, I live in FLORIDA. I'm sure you all remember the recount! Anyway here's the link to the article I read. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/Purging_Joe_the_plumber.html I was hoping my friends here at DP can help. I'm going to try and contact as many people as possible. In the mean time my questions are for one How can I make sure that my vote will count? Secondly How can I make sure that this is not happening to anyone else? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
If you lived in any other state, I'd say, "Give them the benefit of the doubt." However, Florida....hope your name isn't Chad. Otherwise they'll hang you.
I'm sure there are lawyers for both candidates in each state. Maybe you could try getting a hold of campaign lawyers for the candidate you wanted to vote for?
Well considering they way you voted, all 10 names you voted under probably got counted. No worries for you.
LoL...That was funny. This was my first time voting but I heard about people from different states that are registered in more than one... I was kind of scared at first thought that maybe that would work out for the other party.... Maybe if he had a different running mate things would have been different. You can't blame poeple for not wanting to vote for a VP candidate like that. Conversly you can't blame people for wanting to vote for a great Candidate like Obama. Thanks for all your remarks again. I'm out.
Wow; it's a good thing that you live in the US. In some parts of India, it is very common to see your name get omitted from the voter list, to see someone else voting on your name, a gang of thugs capturing the election booth, etc. But people over here have got used to all these things.
Those are things we are trying to NOT get use to. Because of the liberal thinking with the ends justifying the means here, we have had issues with ballots not being counted because of signatures. I would not be surprised if many of the conservative votes did not get counted again in this county.
I never said you need to get used to those things. I was trying to compare the situation between two countries. You need to stand up and fight against the institution or else it will end up becoming too powerful to raise your voice against. Just like most government institutions in India or most other third world countries for that matter.
