Hey DP members, had question about link building we have a website which has been indexed over approx 2 years now in search engines, but finally got it finished 3 weeks ago and finished the on-site optimization. Now, my question is how many back links would be considered not spammy or too less. I spoke with my marketer he said 10 per day. - Thanks
1st position for keywords and traffic, we have large portal of an e-commerce website so the growth is there.
its hard to say how many backlinks u need. i suggest you study the competition and see how many backlinks the top site and few sites below currently show on both google and yahoo which will give you an idea. then come up with a link building plan and go "slow but steady"
It is really very difficult to say the exact number of backlinks. But if you can get some backlinks from PR 5, 6 sites, I think 10 backlinks can work for your target.
Getting backlinks from related content related site would not be considered spam. On top of it, if it has pr then it will add to juice. Try to get as many as you and your team can. The client gave you the per day target I suppose.
Hi, number of the links is never an issue because sometimes one powerful links could perform better than hundreds and quality of them is the issue here.
I don't think that there is a benchmark figure for this. But the increase in your backlinks should not be sudden and large. It should be natural and a gradual process.
Whatever amount you can sustain is the right amount, if you can sustain getting 300 links a month, then shoot for that, if you can only do 50, go for that, consistency makes Google happy.
For the first month or two, stay in the range of 50 to 75 web site links and 100 to 125 Blog/Forum links. After ~2 months double the amount but with emphisis on the Blog/Forum links. At the 6 month mark go wide open (as much as possible) on the Blog/Forum links. But keep any other link concept to ~200 per month with consistant anchor text. Although you have age on the site, the lack of rapid links will get you a penalty
Nice, thanks a bunch that helps alot so just make it slow and gradually and keep it steady competition has plenty it's in (home decor) industry.......
