I am looking to write articles for people. I have been doing it for Associated Content for little over a week now.

I just got into this article writing and am wanting to grow my income a bit more.
A few articles have been published there and many are waiting for approval.

You can check out some of my writing on my profile there for reference on how I write.

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/346250/austin_ziegenfuss.html

I can write on many topics but I prefer to write on:

    Weight loss(some aspects)
    Technology
    Travel
    Some health topics
    Automotive
Atv's (if anyone needs that type of article I can write on that)
    Animals(some aspects)

And probably many more. Just tell me what you want and I will tell you if I can or not. No Adult topics!

I will not write quality articles for free. A lot of people write on this website but not all of them are good quality.
    Payments Updated!
400 words or longer will be $3.90
    500 words will be $4.55
Anything over 500 words will be discussed.

This is not bad for quality articles. I have seen higher here. I will be using this money to pay my car off so you guys will be helping me a bunch.

Send me a PM or ask a question here. Please do not ask me to send you a pm!

Payments will be made by Paypal or possible Google checkout.

Hi. I was in your situation at one point, and know how to grow where your point. From what I see, you need to drastically lower your rates to less than $0.01. Only then will you be a great competitor. These days, only the people with a lot of iTraders and experience/feedback may go to the $0.01 or more. Hope this helps!

BTW, my iTrader is low because I just started becoming active on DP. I've done this business for awhile now.

my advice that you lower your rates to attract the clients !! when you have itraders in bulk and permanent clients then you can increase your rates , and it will take less than 2-3 weeks OK

its an advice from my side
    - up to you may be you hve better idea then :)

    regards

    Hello, cowsgonemadd3,

Congrats on your new venture into article writing. It's hard but rewarding.

It's completely up to you what you decide to charge, but I do beg to differ on some of the advice you've been given. Do not try to compete on price by lowering your rates. Apart from price, what do you feel you have to offer potential clients? What are your strengths? That's what should differentiate you.

It might help if you hopped over to DP's Copywriting section. I found it very helpful in keeping me rooted in what I deserve for what I do.

    take care...

This is just maddening to hear people telling you that in order to compete on here you must lower your prices. If you offer quality material, that will put you leagues above others on here. I have actually read one of your articles and you seem to write very well. Do not lower your prices to compete with lower quality writers. I don't care if you are just starting out or not.

If people don't want to hire you, look elsewhere for jobs. I assure you, you will find them. I have seen many other writers on here offering their services for more than a measely penny per word, and they have clients because their work is good enough for that price.

Take isaa's advice and check out the Copywriting section, but take it one step further and look at other sites than this one alone. To be honest, I don't write here because of the ridiculous rates I've seen. Its disheartening and it only makes it seem okay to pay good writers nothing for their hard work.

I have to agree with this. Compete on the price and you're at the dead-end of your career.

Yeah I got to reading and your right. I am going to leave it at what I lowered it to for the first few people and articles so I can get some feedback.
If you do not want to pay for quality then you will get junk. I will raise my rates even higher than I first had after that as its hard work making good 100% unqiue articles for 3 or 4 bucks. A quality article is worth more than 4 or 5 bucks thats for sure. Associated Content will pay up to 20 bucks for good articles.

Thanks I just started this whole deal last week. I have now written 32 articles. I am getting better as I go along too.

    well its common sense

lower your price, get huge clients, with some bucks plus itraders, mean while get confidense and polish your writing skill- after gaining momentum increase your price or close this thread - start new one and on the thread give refrence link of this thread simple and dimple - why confusing yourself moving here and their

you are here to earn, and this is a very honest and simple way
instead of competing , stronger your back first of all and then play monopoly :D

i hope you dont mind my advice

My advice would be the same as many others here - DO NOT compromise on your rates.

Thinking that you have to charge less because you're new is pure hogwash.
Figure out how much you want per hour and see how long it takes to get one 500 word article done. After a few articles and working with different clients, you can come up with rates that you can use as a baseline.

You must remember that you could easily force yourself out of business if you quote too low. Don’t assume that just because other writers have more experience and been around longer than you that they do a better job or command more money.

Having said that, I must add that you will retain high-paying clients only if you take the time to do the required research and give completely original content.

    Wish you all the success!

This comment is so hilarious... I peed myself reading it. Seriously though, I completely agree. $4 an article for quality material is practically rape.

Well its true people here seem to not want to pay the money for the articles but get mad when they get poor quality. A American like me needs more to be worth it so....

It's an American, not a American

I've read the first three of the articles you've linked to at associated content and there are spelling and grammar mistakes in every one.

Yep I saw one where I left off the "e" when I said one it ended up saying on. I am getting better like I said.
You may find grammar errors but you will find them in professional writers articles also as I have seen them.

There are a lot more mistakes than that.
With just a quick look at 3 articles I found :-

and it ads up at the end of the month
    hair is plyable
where speed limits are slow anyways
if your over 14 and have never drove one.
and fine if your in town
Look around you and your bound to see
So whats the reason people buy bottled water
    So lets answer

If you want people to pay you, you have got to get those things right. These mistakes are all in the pieces you are using to advertise yourself.

Okay well since you won't do PM's tell me how I would write those sentences better. Do you expect me to use fancy words or something? I honestly don't see whats wrong with those sentences so tell me so I can improve.
