How to bring traffic to an image host?

So i've had my free image hosting website http://www.imglot.com/ up for around a year or two now as a personal image webhost, and having it available to those who would want to use it via my forum signatures. But i'm recently taking more of an interest into it in the potential of selling it in the future.

I'm just curious on how to actually get people to realize that it's available compared to other image hosts, and to convince them that it's more usable, and what not.

It's a lot faster than other image hosts, as the uploading time is faster because of the ajax implementation. I've included an image view page similar to that of ImageShack, and i'm wanting to expand on it a bit more, but I still want to keep it simple so that it's more user-friendly, and not just your every day image upload.

Any recommendations would be loved, as this is an incredibly competitive market, but my host has been up for some time, which is more than most can say, as they die out within their first few months.

May be announce your site on different forums and also link your site from your other sites?

You should make avatar for your site too, it will also make a difference.

Also, just to give your site a little publicity I have added your site in my free image hosting sites list. :)

I would suggest facebook and other social network sites because they are so closely related its more targeted to the people you want to attract and other forums like parents with kids forums they always want to have photos of there kids

Still, even that would be beneficial. I'm not expecting to make a living from it, I do freelance for that. But a passive income from it would definitely be ideal.. even $100/month would help that much more.

But i'll take the myspace/facebook scheme into consideration.. that's not a bad idea at all :)

It has a maximum file upload I believe, but yeah, I will most likely be adding the url upload as well.
