The forum has over 60,000 posts and 8,000 members but please be aware that the forum is spam ridden so not all of the content posted will be from real members. This forum is in dire need for some tender loving care, it has been left to sit and gather dust for some time now.

Recently I upgraded the vB version and added a new skin to the site (NOT custom). The value here really is in the domain and memberbase, many of the members registered activated their accounts and therefore have fully working emails.

I am too busy to put in the required work to get this site back and track and therefor I decided the best thing to do was to try and find this forum another owner. For this reason, I am not asking for big money here.

The domain is registered at GoDaddy.

This auction will end in 7 days, or as soon as someone BIN's it. Payment can be sent by Paypal, Escrow or check. (Funds must clear before site is transferred.)

Please do not ask for traffic or revenue details. I do not have them and I am not factoring them into the asking price. For a forum that is in need of great work but has 8000 members and a good domain, I think for the right buyer this could be a really good investment. The google ad which shows in the header and left nav bar generates less than $1/day.

I should also mention, the Vbulletin license is a one year leased license so I think I am correct in saying that it is non-transferrable. HOWEVER, I am willing to leave the vbulletin license registered to the domain CarsForums, and give you the license number etc. This way you will not need to get a license until the current on expires next year.

Thanks for your bid. The majority of the spam was posted before I upgraded the Vbulletin to a newer version. Since then, on the registration form there is a image where new members have to type the word they see to complete registration. This is a highly effective way to stop spam bots crawling the forum and posting their advertisements. Since the upgrade, spam has decreased dramatically to at most 2-3 posts per day.

As for member activity, assume low. This is due to the forum still being relatively unclean. The new owner will have to spend time cleaning up the forum and removing the spam. The reason why member activity died away is because they will have seen the forum becoming overrun and realised the management of the forum wasn't upto standard.

As I stated in my original post, this site really is in need of tender loving care. It's a great little forum with a good domain, and for the right buyer they can pick this up on the cheap and make it into a good community.
