Is it illegal to make something where you list a bunch of links but also have google ads among the links? Let's say you have a website and it looks like this: Check out these other cool sites: Link 1 Link 2 Google Ads Link 3 Link 4 And let's say that you make the link color the exact same as your Google ad color, to the point where you can't tell a difference or can just barely tell a difference between the Google ad and the link. Is that illegal?
I would not try it. You might be setting yourself up to get banned by Google. I don't think you can tell people to "check this out" or "click on these" for Google ads.
Oh yeah, that's a good point, I didn't realize the "Check these sites out" would be an incentive. What if I simply listed a bunch of links and had the Google ads scattered in among the links but I didn't actually tell anyone to click anything?
the visitors are not that smart..you will have to tell them where to find the links..try another way to embed the google ads of your site
I believe that GOOGLE would whip your ass on this one mate... They can tell through their algorithm exactly link colors and how close. I have seen people banned by them with no mercy at all... It is best to place them somewhere safer. ~ Mike
If the condition of the placement could confuse visitors to click on the ads, then it is definitely against the TOS. However, if you make the ads so that it blends in well with the content by changing the link color and background, that should be ok.
I've had Google ads embedded in text like this for a long time, see http://www.cheap-and-easy-recipes.com/soup-recipes.htm and I've not had any problems with Google. I don't see anything in their rules to prohibit it.
Thank you for your post! This is exactly what I had in mind. As long as you've had no problems with something like that, then I should be fine. Thanks a lot.
if you think it would work, and you have doubts, then just shoot them an email. they're pretty good about answering usually
