Email Marketing - how to start?

Recently I have been thinking of a new way to promote some affiliates, email marketing.

But I don't know where to start. I don't want to be an annoying spammer who sends out thousands of emails a day like "Make your dick bigger in 1 hour" or "make 1 billion dollars in 10 minutes"

but what I want to do is have interested readers.

How to start? I mean, I know all about that aweber crap and making a website that will hand out "free reports" that are totally junk.

Can't you go to the DMA (Direct Marketing Agency) and pay for email lists, legally?

    Thanks :D

You can add a sign up form on your website . Paying for lists is not always a good idea.

You need to think of what kind of audience you are looking for when you are writing your auto response letters. You need to send useful information, but also recommend your products/services.You will need at least 10 letters. You will need a high quality freebie "as a bribe" so people will give you their email address.I´m afraid there is no short cut in this because you must build a relationship with your contacts or you will not see any sales.Who would buy from you if they don´t trust you?
