    • Lots more non-Americans here on DP -- who want to see America fail and know Obama is the right tool for that job
    • A lot younger and less-clued crowd here on DP -- the DP unemployment rate is probably something like 80%
    • A lot more terrorist sympathizers here on DP -- they know their man

"They want to see America fail"

As if Bushes policies were not a failure enough for you, Will wants 4 more years of the disasterous policies of Bush and Cheney. Voting for McCain is voting for America to fail.

I can think of one post that encapsulates all three of your points. Sometimes people pretend to be one thing, until they expose the truth about themselves.

Granted, GTech is known for his slanderous and posts where he will desperatley do anything to gain the upper hand.

He loves to quote a select 2-3 of my posts out of context to try to gain an upper hand, I think he is tired of getting his ass handed to him so instead he tries to preach to the converted.

As you know Wadey boy, we've been through this before. I was taking the piss, specifically out of people like you with that post you linked to. Anyway now, back to the ranch you backward thinking, racist cowboy!

There is no "out of context" in your post, thraxed. The context was crystal clear and demonstrates where your loyalties and ideologies are.

    I beg to differ, Will.

    1. First off that many voters on the dp poll suggests that the whacko spread this poll around in other parts of dp and brought in voters who don't normally comment in this section. Just a guess but there aren't 69 (current vote count)( loud mouths in P&R like you and I :D).

You have no idea where these voters live, whether they are Americans or not, nor do you have any idea what they are thinking. Rather presumptuous of you, IMV.

    2. I'd bet DP members are on average younger than the American voting public. Do you realize that since the vote went to 18, percentage of voters to registered voters has declined dramatically. Younger voters are not great at voting.

This year has seen enormous increases in registering voters. In a few hours we will see the vote totals for the candidates, the winners and losers, the percentage of voters to the entire electorate, etc.

The right to vote is open to all eligible voters. Its empowering. All people eligible should give it a shot. There is no restriction on "clued in", whatever that means.

Its nice to know that you consider that 80% of DP members are unemployed. I guess you have a low opinion of the members here.

    3. Terrorist supporters? Even if there aren't tons of people commenting here, there is certainly tons of political drama coming out of a relatively few voices.

As far as terrorist supporters though and who they tend to support in the election it came out recently that Al Queda announced support for McCain. I happened to reference it at DP, and our friend GTech happened to see it and respond.

Think about it....Al Queda supporting McCain. Makes one shudder.

Of course some of us could have dramatised that commentary and turned it into an enormous attack on John McCain.

It wasn't done. Who needs the drama of crazy accusations and absurd efforts at rediculous relationships when people are trying to make honest choices of two different presidential candidates and two different schools of thought. In some cases the schools of thought are very different, in other cases they are scarcely different at all.

Once the election is over, either McCain or Obama will face a nation with a dire financial situation. Neither of them will be capable of fulfilling all of their campaign promises. Beyond that either of them will face a Congress that will have lots to say and different opinions on the campaign promises of the two candidates.

Life will move on, just as has moved on under successive periods of Dem and GOP leadership from the Presidency.

Thraxed... I'm not sure there's a context in which the sentence "go hamas go al qaeda, blow up as many israelie jew scums and americans as you can! it will make my day" comes out making you look real good, and showing a quote of someone's own words isnt slander. You kinda limited the amount of goodwill you can expect with that one.

If you dont wanna see such trash quoted, best bet is not to write it.

    ==============

Earl - LOL, yeah, somebody's gonna have their hands full starting tomorrow (or God I hope this is over by tomorrow... the 2000 "election month" thing sucked). Anyway, I think one of the late night guys summed it up when he said this might be the first election where the *winner* was the one demanding a recount.

I don't recall you shuddering when al qaida endorsed Kerry?

Maybe you didn't get the memo on that one, Earl. I know you are better than the average liberal democrat though...and that facts DO matter to you. There was no al qaida support for McCain. Was just another desktop jihadist taking the easy path to get some virgins. We have a few of those here too! Wapo just doesn't have a clue. Feel free to udpate your bookmarks ;)

It's called sarcasm. Americans are known to be very poor at it and detecting it.

Ironically we're apparently good at spotting over-generalization. There are few traits everyone in any given country really share.. despite the suggestion. Classifying people that way is a social crutch.

There is no way McCain can win now.

Currently Obama has 200 electoral votes.

    California + Hawaii + Washington + Oregon + 200 > 270.

Better get used to saying "President Obama." YES WE CAN.

When you bet on something bad to happen, your odds are usually good.

I notice that you're in the UK. How do you feel that the UK will be better off now that the United States is worse off?

Socialists believe that they are made richer every time someone else is made poorer. Is that the key here?

No, you're wrong. The situation that Obama will most likely win and Mccain will lose, prove your theory is flawed. :)

Don't get too happy. Even after the coronation, this still isn't going to be legal in New Jersey.
