That's a terrible rate - about $0.001 per word... wow. Were you writing in English or your native language? Here at DP, even those who aren't very skilled at English are able to charge anywhere from $0.005 to $0.01 per word and get a decent amount of work.
that is crazy and if you're in the U.S. or getting US money then definitely get out of that gig. I can't imagine writing 12,000 words and only making $15. Good luck finding new work!!!
I totally agree, 12,000 words for $15, sheesh, you'd be better off standing in the street busking with a yo-yo or bongo drums. May I say as well, anyone regularly writing 12,000 words per day is probably not producing top quality writing, and this may be the main reason you aren't getting better gigs. May I suggest, get yourself a couple of websites, do a fraction of the work you're currently doing, put some AdSense on the sites, then spend some time promoting them, and you will more than likely earn the same amount of money with less stress.
