I do not make my decisions due to endorsements. But that being said, these are some very powerful endorsements for Obama. Your average person doesn't know that much about the economy and when they see the richest men in America supporting Obama they think they must know what they are doing. Meanwhile McCain's big endorsements come from George W. Bush & Dick Cheney.
You can spend all day trying to make it sound like McCain was an integral part of the current administration, but it just makes it look like you are a kid that hasnt been paying attention to politics and believes everything the DNC tells him.
robjones. HA! The GOP soldiers have been saying that since Obama began aggressively linking McCain with Bush. Of course they say that because they know how damaging Bush & Cheney are and because of how well it works. The fact is that for those who vote on the issues (which in a perfect world would be everyone) there is no discernible difference between McCain/Palin & Bush/Cheney. No matter how many times you try to deny it - the fact is a vote for John McCain is a vote for a continuation of George W. Bush's policies when it comes to the economy & foreign policy.
Depends on what polls you look at. For the most part its been show to be a pretty close election. How so? Well let me pose this question in response. If McCain/Palin loses, will America be proved a sexist country? See how stupid that sounds?
An Obama loss will not "prove" America is a racist country. Some will continue to believe we are regardless of whether or not he wins.
I didnt say it was an ineffective political tactic to claim so... I simply pointed out that it is not true. Either way... McCains campaign did a piss poor job of pointing out that if a McCain vote is a vote for an unpopular current administration... then a vote for the DNC crew was a vote for the only idiots in the country with a lower approval rating... the guys that have controlled both legislative bodies for 2 years and accomplished nada. That's OK... we'll see how it works out if "The One" wins. Frankly I have about a section and a half of land in BFE calling my name if he does as I think he would. You guys can fend for yourselves if the new Marx brother ends up in the White House with a Democratically controlled Congress. Be fun to see where they''ll find a scapegoat when they screw up with a monopoly on power. Lotsa luck to him... the rookie would need it.
National Republican Trust PAC has been running some absolutely disgusting Reverand Wright ads here in Virginia today. I've called them to complain (they promptly hung up.) This is their phone #: 1-866-957-1467 Or you can contact them online. One of the best things about a landslide Obama win tomorrow would be in proving these types of disgusting campaign tactics do not work.
Actually Reverend "God Damn America" Wright himself would have to come up a few notches to just reach "disgusting". I know, it's just terrible to point out that Obama considered this loon his spiritual mentor, and the fact that Obama has a pattern of associating with people that hate this country tells us absolutely nothing about his personal character... we're just supposed to listen to his campaign speeches and lose ourselves in the wonder of his greatness. I'm reminded of the "Wizard of Oz" line... "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain."
Sarah Palin was 100% creepy on SNL tonight. Was that supposed to be funny? May the Spaghetti Monster save us all if this woman gets into the White House. It's despicable to me that folks like yourself talk crap about Reverend Wright even though he was a volunteer in the Navy for years. Wright doesn't hate America, he hates the horrible things that the American government has done, as all real Americans should. But, what's more important is that guilt by association attacks of this kind are the lowest type of attack one can use. Truly disgusting. To judge Obama by the pastor at his church (a church with thousands of members) is just ridiculous. Are you judging Sarah Palin because of that lunatic witch doctor that "laid hands" on her?
Apparently you dont understand the term "spiritual mentor". That's how Obama originally described him. That's not a casual relationship. If I want to consider a guy a crazy asshole because he used the pulpit to suggest 9/11 was Americas fault... you can call it disgusting all day without fazing me... he's still an asshole. Obama's already cut him loose like a hot potato to get himself elected, so even HE agrees that the guy is a loon NOW. The question is did the guy become a loon in the last year or was he nutty as a jar of Skippy the other 20 years of his relationship with Obama.
You know what's most sad about the disgusting despicable "guilt by association" attacks by the GOP? The Democrats could come back and smack down the GOP candidates with that kind of filth too. It's easy to do. It's easy to find associations and things in your past that may appear unsavory when clipped out of context. Really easy. Imagine what the Dems could have done with John McCain having left his first disabled wife for a younger rich woman? Or how about Gordon G. Liddy? They could have ran association ads tying McCain to Watergate. It makes just as much sense as any of the garbage you guys are spouting. But you know what? Obama didn't choose to take that low road. McCain did. And McCain will have to live with that for the rest of his life. He will not only lose this election, he has also lost his reputation forever. I'm just wondering what you guys are going to run at Obama in 2012. You'll have to run against his record (which I think will be strong of course) --- will you guys still be talking about Reverend Wright after he's been President for four years? It's almost comical but instead it's just flat out disgusting and pathetic. And I hope to the Spaghetti Monster in the sky that American soundly rejects that kind of divisive useless politics tomorrow. No more lies and guilt by association attacks. Instead lets talk about the issues.
Is it more disgusting to point out that Obama chooses to associate with people that hate America or for him to do it? I realize some have a semi-religious belief that Obama can do no wrong, but the old saying "birds of a feather" is there for a reason. It'd take a lot of G Gordon Liddy's to equate to one Wright, Khalid, or Ayres. The guy has a pattern of such associations, and it doesnt speak well of his real beliefs. You can vote for whomever you want, but this stuff DOES speak to his character... and if you think McCains ancient marital stuff means as much then feel free to say it.
No it wouldn't. Liddy's certainly worse than Wright, probably worse than Ayers, and well, I don't know much about Khalid, except that McCain gave his organization like half a mil. As far as I know Wright never participated in felonies that were meant to undermine the democratic process. Wright is just an idiot, and that's his god-given right.
If you'd equate the watergate burglary with setting bombs in the Pentagon, a police station, the capitol, and the one that started Ayres on the run that blew prematurely... one meant for a dance filled with servicemen... we disagree. To top it off we dont have Liddy running around today saying he didnt do it enough. Ayres said he didnt do enough, his wife says she doesnt regret having set the bombs. Ayers is an older leftwing version of Tim McVeigh with a little less talent at the blowing stuff up role.
I understand that Obama is a black man and that there are many racist people in the US. Him not winning, however, doesn't necessarily mean that it's because he is black. Perhaps there are many people who do not agree with his views instead of his skin color. Also, polls are often wrong. They could have chanced upon many of the few Obama supporters and vice versa for McCain. I'm not saying there is little support for Obama, but just clarifying why polls can be incorrect. That being said, however, I will be voting Obama later this morning when polls open in Michigan. Let's see what happens!
I wouldn't equate the two. Like I said, what Nixon did and what Liddy masterminded is far worse. Committing felonious acts to effectively usurp the presidency has much wider and deeper ramifications on the world and on history than setting some bombs, bombs that I don't believe killed anyone. Even if they had killed people, the Watergate break-ins would still be more important in terms of the effect it had on its times and on history. What Liddy was seeing over was a rigging of the democratic process. To illegally spy on your opponents, to see what dirt they have on you, and to maybe get some dirt on them, is undermining the process that we have chosen that determines who runs the nation. Winning the Presidency, not just by cheating, but cheating by means of committing felonies was far more damaging to the security of our nation than any bombs the weathermen ever planted.
Best to hear it from the man himself Obama is the One If you want to make an educated decision on your vote it is a must hear interview. These are Obama's words, this is the man talking about his views, no stutter, no cue cards, no teleprompter - pure Obama.
