Erm... I think it's because you are thinking I'm labelling myself as an expert here which is not my intention at all. If you are following through my reply here, you should notice that i'm just sharing my personal thought & experience here instead of recommending it as a learning resource to novices. I definitely didn't mean that at all as i have write clearly that i have just published my blog for about 2 week++, of cause i'm still a newbie in IM.

Yea nice work grats , as for me i went and optimized wrong key word which is lessons on earning money and my blog http://lessonsonearningmoney.blogspot.com i on the front page like 5th links or 4th at 1 point it reached 1st link. i should have make for make money didn't know so many search for that

 

Just check on your lessons blog, my face in yahoo mybloglog appeared in your side widget. haha. yup, optimizing for the correct key word is the very first step of creating a correct blog. It's really important to check the popular keyword through google keyword tool/wordtracker free keywords tool!

 

That's a ridiculous keyword. Nobody would ever type that in. I doubt you've had a single legitimate hit from that search term - if you have had any, its just from people in this thread trying it.

Just because there are lots of results doesn't mean anybody has ever used that query and ever will in the future. It just means you took lots of common words and strung them together in an inane order.

I am confused during the initial setup, but after reading it through again i understand it.

I think it's not good to share your document here as other member will see your account information if i show it here. For speedier respond, You could actually issue an ticket to the contact us counter and they will be happy to help you setup it for you. Or you could let me know your email so that i can share my experience of setting it up by myself

 

I don't have a htaccess file so I can't edit it- the video says they don't provide support at the help desk other that this video tutorial- the volume is too low to hear it-my IT dept at my site will take forever to add this html- if they will even add it- I don't know--I shouldn't have paid the $197- this is not for me- I will cancel my order

 

There are some option i can suggest to you:

1) Plug in an earphone so that you can hear the video tutorial clearly as your environment might contribute noise and make you can't hear it clearly.

2) Approach your IT dept and ask them do they allow you to create and edit .htaccess file. If they don't allow it, i can't do anything about it as they are overwriting your control over your own website! For me, i'll straightaway outsoure another hosting company that can give me 100% control onl my website and do what i want to do like the blog i am having now.

3) If your IT said you have the authority to have .htaccess file, i can help you to create the two require redirection file and you will just need to upload it to your server using your file manager.

4) You can give me your FTP credential so that i can do it completely for you without any charge. But it's not recommended as you are giving me your private information for me to do modification to your website. I think it's also the main reason they don't provide support because they can't support you without your private FTP information.

So now the choices is really on your hand. I'll respect your decision

Btw, you can use this redirection trick at other websites as well instead of only one website. Just to let you know in case you presume it can only be apply to a single website.

 

Its actually really easy to rank number one for any given terms, especially "Long Tail Keywords" like the example you gave. Its still a good job, but long tail is only going to provide feedback on the one term. I personally find it important to build up authority on a certain topic for your site and then focus on long tail leading eventually to short sided keywords

 

MFCB - The blog rank will continually change, this is due in large part due to the data centers that are processing your search request, along with the general search flow found when new articles are added to the search terms your targeting. Some sites may add content that the engines find more important, but a link to your article may push you above that site, its all about longevity, authority, and many other factors.

 

Ok... let's see if I've got this straight.

You've got a search phrase that is 5 words long: best online money making secret
This phrase gets very few if any searches in any given month.
You're excited that you rank first for a phrase which isn't searched.

I think that sums it up right?

OK... So just to prove a point let's see how long it takes me to come up with a #1 ranking for a 5 word search phrase. If you look at my most recent blog post (dated 10/31) that was made two days ago, it has 5 "keywords".

I'm willing to bet that within 2 weeks from the post date that site will be have the #1 position in google for that phrase. Notice how I'm going out of my way not to mention the site or the phrase? I won't do anything to promote the phrase. I won't do anything to promote that post. I'll just let it do whatever it does. (However I will continue to promote the site).

As to the bet... I'm willing to bet you 1 permanent link from a well established 5 year old PR2 (that at one point was a PR6, but I really don't care about the PR on the site in question) for something equivalent as determined by yourself.
