yeah good on him I suppose, affilaite marketing is about getting in on whats hot and milking it until it drys up!! So all power to him i reckon!!
Thats right, only few people in the niche anymore compared to earlier this year, and those few are promoting better converting products - his product was the first of its kind (cheap, 75%comm and convert like crazy) - it also had lot of covering from the media + high gas prices. He is obviously trying to sell it because he saw that the niche is dying and want to get a good sum of money before his sales go totally flat. He is pushing that huge amount he earned since obviously that will make the price go trough the roof. The only problem is that he is loosing momentium and will not be worthed to invest in such a niche.
Yeah why would u want to sell it if its making money for you?? I think he knows its dead now so he wants to offload it to someone!
Plus it's not going to die completely.... I think as soon as gasoline prices go up again, water4gas and such products will gain gravity...
I think this will still stick around for a long time. Even if the new buyer only gets $300/day from it. I see its a falafelfro selling it. Seems he did well from the good old DP days, even says in the auction he had some $20k days
just google "water4gas" http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2008/07/water4gas.html http://hubpages.com/hub/water4gas-scam-revealed etc...
I saw this over at Sitepoint today as well...... Either way you look at it, $1,600,000 in sales for a frickin digital product is making one hell of a killing.
Just imagine how much water4gas owner made. Almost double the gravity, the first one out, and they were making $40 on affiliate sales and $92 on no affiliated sales. He probably made in excess of $5,000,000 profit or more.
Yes it was (or still is) a very successful market but there will be many more like this ones, look guys CB and online marketing is just like buying/selling stocks, you have to be informed about what's been happening lately and the future predictions, even a small change in the middle east or any other region might trigger a brand new market almost overnight
Yes probably sales will still flow for a long time because of the momentium he got, but the question is... how much are you willing to pay for those $300/day ?.... normally an internet business sells for at least a years revenues, in this case in theory it should sell for something like 1.6 million. however, this is hardly the case. Probably someone will buy it for a good sum and will never return the money spend ever.
Usually for an internet business/site you pay somewhere around 10-12 months revenue as its volatile and any projections beyond that are just guesses. However with a niche like that where sales are dropping I would change the projection to more like 10 - 12 x earnings of THIS month.
Yes, but must probably the owner is not that stupid to sell an autopilot revenue stream for this month earning x 12 - and who would! But, given that this year revenues have been so much high, I'm sure that he is looking for the big fish to throw him at least a million bucks....
