Sign up for google adsense, put the code on your site and you have easy ads. You can also look into affiliate companies and place their banner ads on your site. Your options are almost endless when it comes to monetizing your site, just a matter of the amount and the type of traffic you generate. With blogspot, I would just ditch that and get your own domain name. You can get hosting for like $5/month now a day's so why bother using blogspot? Having your own domain name adds credibility to your site and looks more professional then a free hosted blog. Just my opinion...
If you are using blogspot(free host), there is a plug-in in which you can insert ads in your blog. There is an "add gadget" feature in which you can format what kinds of ads you want to add. But make sure that you already have an adsense account.
If you wanted to do some private ad sales (125x 125). I just installed the WP125 plugin makes it much easier to manage.
