So I'm sold on Direct Deposit, thanks guys.

But the tax ID, I hear it can be your social. But if you're from the US the point is that you have to enter this, correct? I mean, if you don't it's like you're dodging paying taxes on your earnings and if the IRS somehow finds out about it, it's the equivalent of tax evasion, isn't it? I haven't entered it yet but I've been getting paid (not much) for a little under a year to this point on and off, does it matter that I haven't entered it yet?

I just wanted to be clear on what the whole thing was about before I went ahead and entered it. Thanks.

I believe if you make over $600 anually you have to enter it. They have to claim they are paying you over this amount to the IRS so they will stop payments if you do not. I personally entered mine (here and on google's AdSense) but never claim it on my taxes (never been audited either though).

If you are making over $600 a year, it's better to enter your tax id. You can't run from IRS forever.

Enter the your social, or create an LLC and get a tax ID, either way if you start making real money, you are going to have to pay real taxes. But look at it like this, the more taxes you have to pay, the more you are making!

Is it possible/easy to switch to a tax id number in the future? For now I think I'll just put a social in and leave the option of adding a tax id later. It's just for businesses, correct?

Correct me if I'm off, but here's the way I see it.

I don't make enough from online marketing to warrant me going to the trouble to start my own LLC or any kind of company to get myself tax advantages. I don't know much about it, I just know I CAN get tax advantages of some sort if I declare my own company. So for now, until I make enough money to warrant it, maybe next year, I'll just stick with my social.
