I've been hearing a lot about affiliate marketing lately. Some seem to have a negative opinion about it and others say it's great. Please help me to learn how to find the best companies to become an affiliate of so i can find out for myself. thanks.
Join one of the affiliate network like clickbank, amazon, or the one in my sig. Get your affiliate link and start to promote it. There are many method to promote affiliate out there. You just need to find the one that works for you.
Selling other people's stuff is a great way to start, but knowing what you're selling also helps. You should probably consider the target audience as well. Good Luck! Dave T

You could start with a zero budget and put in a lot of hard work but your results will only come with time.
Well I think in order to be successful in internet affiliate marketing, you need to at least spend some kind of money in marketing the product. Its really hard to make sales without a PPC network to help you.
sometimes i feel affiliate marketing is giving free PR to those people who invited u to list, but rarely i make not much from that, so i have a bit of doubt though... maybe ad placement is main income just my 2 cents
I think telling that Affiliate Marketing is an easy way to start an online business is right but to actually doing it is a whole different ball game. Before you go into a business, whether it's affiliate, MLM or anything you got to ask yourself what kind of income do you expect? If you wish a serious income, then you got to be a serious affiliate as well. A serious affiliate will at least invest in: 1. Buying a domain. 2. Setting up a web site. 3. Setting up an autoresponder. 4. Build content. 5. Learn the ropes for SEO (I prefer this than PPC advertising, it is slow and hard work, but it is more pleasurable for me to see my site ranked #1 with organic traffic... but that's just me...) 6. Time (I work as a journalist covering city's issues, so I don't have much spare time, but I promise myself to spent at least 4 hours to do my affiliate projects, that's the price you have to pay for a dream) 7. Research (this one should go in #1 I suppose... research your market then look for a product that can fulfill their needs) 8. Hanging out in forums, to learn not to spam, to share not to advertise (this idea comes from a self development book I just bought, if you want to be rich hang out with the rich and listen to their stories, same goes to affiliate marketers).
