YouTube rules Is this true, YouTube would not be were is without piracy providing it with content (Videos). There must be a high percentage of content that has no license or the orginal content creater has not given them permission to use the content What is the chance, of a user/uploaded to be asked for, a licence? Youtube also has a lot of its own content too. Either way, youtube has also established links with a lot of publishers, so a lot of the content is legit now to, or available legitly (Ex. UMG).
They have MP3's stored and if the music is banned on YouTube, as in the sound file, they do tell you and give you the option to change it from a list of legal-tube music.
No.Youtube is a great outlet for upcoming bands/artists and other arts. Many people who upload, upload their own content. It became what it is because of it's original content. Once it was noticed, major companies started utilizing it as well. Of course piracy can probably be sourced as some of the reason it became so big and well known. But it is not the only reason, or as I would imagine, the only reason.
Don't you guys see the news, read a newspaper? Youtube has been sued more then once. Viacom once sued them for 1 billion dollars. Ofcourse google has the power and the money to settle these things out of court.
