No you dont need to. Google crawls it way through. However if at at all it misses out pages Google allows a facility called Sitemaps where you can list down all the URLs of the site and post it to Google in one go

I don't think many people use the add url tool anymore. Too slow to get crawled
Just generate backlinks to your blog

To answer your question though, once your blog is indexed you don't need to add individual pages URLs to URL submit if you still insist on using that. You should however ping every post

No, you don't. Make sure you submit your sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools and it'll work out everything by itself.

Is it necessary for better crawling or it's just a formality ?

Nope.. You don't need to do that.
Just use a automatic sitemap generator and Google will find that.

Is your blog a wordpress blog? When you make a new blog post in wordpress and press the Publish button, it pings a service called pingomatic which lets all or most of the crawlers know to crawl your site and the new post.

I have had new posts indexed in google in 10 - 15 minutes after writing them.

The most important thing is to write good and unique content! And if you do that your posts will surly be crawled and indexed by google in no time.

Google will index your site through links. You don't need to use the Add URL function.

Well actually do not even submit your homepage to google, because google likes those websites more which aren't directly submitted but got discovered by googlebot through some other already indexed website. Like if u know the owner of xyz.com and also xyz.com has already been indexed in google, u can request that person to place ur ilnk on his website, atleast for a few days,

And regarding sitemap for blogspot bloggers, you can read [ Blogger Sitemap For Google ]

No, you don't have to do that. However, a good practice is to ping your blog every time there's a new update which is a way to inform Google Blog Search of weblog updates

There is no need to add every post's url to Google. If Google crawls your blog regularly, the new posts will get indexed on their own.

Yes, he rightly pointed. Google automatically crawls all the urls automatically, and takes time to update in database to get indexed.

Simply submitting your articles to social bookmarking sites like digg and stumble will do. It is a great technique for fast indexing of pages. :D Submission to search engines is now not a mandatory for sites.

Thanks for your response, that makes a lot of sense. Googlebot will take priority to those links found from sites already indexed in their database.
