I recently sold an item worth $400 on eBay. I got the payment via PayPal. I sent the item to the buyer and now he has raised an "Item Not received Claim" in Paypal. I have sent all the money to my bank account via Xoom. Now my Paypal balance is $20. What can PayPal do at the most. Can they put the balance in negative? I had used my credit card to verify the Paypal account but I deleted it afterwards. I also had added my bank account once, but deleted that too. Can PP take out money from my credit card or my bank account. I just want to what will happen if the Buyer Wins the claim?
If the buyer wins, the amount will be deducted from your account and you will have a negative balance. PayPal does not automatically take money from your credit card or bank account to make up for the negative balance, instead they prompt you to make up the difference the next time you try to make a payment of any sort.
No, The account details are tied to that account - There will be conflicts when you try to create a new account in the same name, address, and credit card/banking information
WHat if I create a new account and just use different details and then payout via xoom? You think that will help?
You can't delete ur account if your account has a negative balance... I think you only use Different name, address & bank info....
why not scan the document of shipment as proof and send it to them , or if you have a tracking number show them the screenshot of the delivery, DHL and Fedex has it if it was indeed delivered.
that is one of the best suggestions so far but if you cant provide it, you balance will going to negative and the choice is leave it or add fund to make the balance back to positive. PP cant automatically charge the money from cc or bank account. so just wait and see till the dispute process done and hope you lucky with that
PP never charges your bank or card. What they can do is sue you if you don't fill up your account again. Paypal's policy: "The buyer always right?". If you have the tracking number, you can give that to paypal and they'll see that the buyer is bullshi**ing and lock his account. If he opens a "Item not as described" dispute, then your screwed. If he would do that, Paypal would just ask him to send the item back to you. He could send you anything he wants. After you receive it back you can't do anything. If you say that's not what you sent him, paypal will reply that how can they know what you sent him. Been there, done that.
Unforunetely, in an old paypal account of mine I have a negative balance of $350, some idiot claims he never recieved the item, that is why I quit using paypal for selling all together. They once deducted $60 in ebay fees from my bank account after I terminated the billing agreement, so I chargebacked from my bank and got the money back All you have to do if you go negative is never login in again, thats what I did and the balance is over 1 year old and nothing on my credit
Whenever you link a credit card, or mostly a bank account and this type of thing happens, paypal will usually send your paypal account in a negative. i would try to figure out what happened and call your bank account or credit card people to find out about the actual balance or transfer information. When you paypal account goes into negative, just transfer money from your bank account or card into the paypal account to make it positive Also, I cannot stress this enough. Make sure to change your paypal account password 1 to 2 times a month. This will cut down on hackers getting your info and scamming you.
hi there, it does happen to me before, selling in ebay is relate with proof, so here is a small tips for you no matter what you sell, the value bigger than $50, i suggest you use some recorded delivery so if the buyer play cheat, you got the receipt proof, they cant do anything. so your account now will negative or deduct from your bank, Take this as Lesson, nothing you can do.
