DENMARK: WHAT A SHAME This happens in Denmark . DENAMRK: WHAT A SHAME, A SAD SHAME. THIS POST HAS TO BE SEEN. THERE IS NO WORST BEAST THAN HUMAN KIND ITSELF!!!! While it may seem liar even today continues to be made this time of year BRUTAL, dantesque, bloody slaughter in the Faroe Islands, which belong to Denmark . A country supposedly of 'civilization' and a EUROPEAN UNION country. For many people this attack to life is unknown to sensitivity. IN THIS bloody slaughter to attend Moz to 'show' entering adulthood (!) is absolutely incredible that no one does A SHIT to prevent this barbarism that are committed against Calderon, an intelligent dolphin who has the particularity of approaching People out of sheer curiosity.
I wanna know the full story. Where is it? If it was for fun, then yes it was excessive. If it was for food, then I have no problem with it.
The problem is the way in which the Dolphins are killed. From my understanding they are literally bled to death. For such intelligent animals it has to be pure torture. Controlled hunting of animals for food is fine with me (I can't bring myself to do it), but it needs to be done in the most humane way possible. Make it quick at least.
What a coincidence, just came across Kentucky Fried Cruelty today. KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious. It would be illegal for KFC to abuse dogs, cats, pigs, or cows in these ways. KFC’s own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses, but KFC refuses to do so. Many advisors have now resigned in frustration. Yeah, animal abuse & human cruelty is sad.
This slaughter looks hilarious to you, Nate? Was that for effect, or is it how you really feel? I don't measure man's power by how much idiocy he can display in exhausting the world to literal death. These hunts are unconscionable, and tragic. Yeah, a real gas, and founded on such brilliance. More information, including information on how best to register a protest.
It looks like a very efficient method of obtaining food to me. It would be very hypocritical of me to criticize the Danes for feeding themselves while I myself still continue to eat. If you want to take the moral high ground here, stop eating.
Because humans are omnivorous, Our diet is ideally supposed to contain meat and vegetables. Do you not eat meat? Also, Do you have any idea how much vegetation would need to be produced if we were all to have an exclusively vegetarian diet? I estimated we would need to produce the equivalent of nearly half a trillion carrots a day (based on a carrot containing 30 calories, A man requiring 2500 calories a day and there being 6 billion+ people on the planet). If these animals were killed for fun i would be completely against it. i think a person needs to have some kind of mental imbalance and bordering on psychopathic to enjoy killing an animal. But if it was done for food i'm hardly in a position to condemn it, and neither is anyone else who eats meat.
I find this an incredible leap of logic, Will. This is a ritual slaughter, involving an incredibly inhumane method of torture and killing - animals cognizant of kinship, literally drowning in the blood of their pod relatives, in unspeakable agony for hours. Additionally, if formerly, the Faeroese used rowboats (with the incidence of whale escape orders higher), the corralling by motorboat is yet another shortsighted "improvement" by man, yielding much higher (and much less sustainable) numbers than yesteryear. Sorry, but I feel you're statement is as ridiculous as saying that because one eats meat, one must necessarily support vivisection. There are better, and worse, ways to kill.
I am hardly going to try to sit on a moral high-horse and rail against efficiency. The Danes have learned efficient methods of obtaining calories -- good for them!
