How long do things stay in Google Cache?

How long does it take for Google cache to clear? Does your stuff you've deleted just stay in there forever?

I'm wondering, because I removed some articles from one site and closed my account, and I'd like to post them to another site, but they won't accept anything that's already online. They use Copyscape, and the posts will show up as already published.

Anyone know how to get around this?

Just setup the robot.txt file to stop crawling your site - I think it will stop catching your page and may be it remove all the content already catched .

It depends on the site, but you could expect half a year or more.
If you own the site you can try to delete cache with Google Webmastering Tools.
    Google has a good memory.

To get your page cache cleared from Google, you have to clear that page and can use robot.txt

if robots.txt doesn't work, use link remove tool in Webmaster Tool.
