i have lost my serp ranking i was on page 2 and now im on page 8 for my keyword all of a sudden what is wrong with google has it hit a virus or somet cos this is confusing my serps.

Stupid newbies, can't you watch the news? An update is performed. Learn your bits if you want to have "some" success. Do you think Google is waiting for YOU to change it's algos?
I check my Google Analytics data only every 2 weeks (to be surprised every single time), so I will let you know tomorrow (since it's November 1st) if I have been affected as well ... hope not.
This is a 'normal' thing for people to loose rank and it's called google dance. In some cases it might actually be a penalty though.
ok this is really confusing i just checked google website keyword checker for one of my keywords has gone from 128 to 63 to 55 i am really having a caffeine attack

It's pretty hard to say anything upfront, if you can let us know the domain name, we can have a look at it.
anyone noticed sitelinks changed? One minute i have 8 silinks, the next they are all gone, now i have 5. strange. But always 8 in WMT.
A Google PR Update - sites with a lot of paid links are penalized. It seems that links from directories receive less value too.
