I have registered my domain (around 100+ of them) with yahoo for 5 years each. Now i m worried about it.
If I tranfer it to other host, I loose what I paid for (5 years fee) and have to pay more ($9.99) for the transfer.:(

Thats sum the cost (loss + charges) to be around $6000. :(

I donno what to do. Any suggestions?

Hey! I've got a big problem with yahoo domains now. I've bought last november 2 domains from them, with $2.99 on the same yahoo account. Now I need to transfer one of those domains, but, suprise...it isn't in the "my services" area, so I can't unlock it to initiate the transfer. Anyone else had this problem? If so pleaase help me. Any other suggestions are welcome

I dont think you'll loose the 5 year registration..
I transferred my domain from yahoo which was registered for 2 years to godaddy..
Now my domain has a validity of 3 years ie the two I had paid at yahoo and one along with the transfer.
What you need to invest now is the transfer fee only.. and your validity will not be lost..

I would write them an email. Probably will be no problem. But if it is, please post the outcome.

this can happen on any domain provider. somewhere in terms&agreements says they can cut you off if you do anything wrong.

I agree, Google is pretty good in terms of customer care.
I would suggest to use goDaddy for domains and hostway or other DEDICATED stuff for hosting.

If Yahoo wants to pull that crap, then they need to give you a refund to go along with it.
