Nofollow Links

    My understanding was that nofollow links will not boost your pagerank although I have seen a couple of sites that do seem to have increased their pagerank with nofollow links. What are your thoughts on this?

    have you done a case study ? and really what really matters is SERPs and not pagerank in my opinion.

    I don't want to post them here as that would not be fair on the site owners. If you check my posts you will find that I have been buying links for a new site I'm launching. I always check the backlinks of any site I buy or trade links with. 2 sites I have looked at have a pagerank of PR4 with ONLY nofollow links and I thought this was not possible?

    I agree 100% about serps but I simply want to find out it nofollow links do pass pagerank simply because I always thought they did not.

    How do you know their PR has increased due to nofollow links?
    Do you have any prove or they have nothing but nofollow backlinks?

    All the backlinks were nofollow which is very strange. I going to do a test on a demo site and see what happens.

    Yup Serps and traffic! page rank is over rated IMHO.

    Google says that nofollow links do not pass pagerank but not so sure about Yahoo or MSN.

    Accroding to me there is relation between PR and traffic. High PR sites gives good position on SER, and this will increase traffic

    Nofollow links don't increase PageRank because Google ignores nofollow links for page rank and seo purposes. I don't know why you think the nofollow links increased the page rank of the pages, but it didn't. Maybe the pages got some dofollow backlinks.

    only and only Do Fallow back links will increase your PR. but if your links comes from No Fallow Pages but your sites got huge number of traffic form that particular No Fallow page (Google analytic will play the major roll) and because of that traffic your PR will getting increasing because
    Google new algorithm consider Traffic points as well and because of that this sites consider some PR value.
