    Already got the tee shirt!

    Yes, it has happened 2 or 3 times to me. I can only assume it is browsers opening links in new windows.

    Are not Google supposed to reimburse you in such cases? Sure I read that somewhere but hardly worth doing the maths to check at 15c a click but at $3 a click it could be if it happens regularly.

    I see this pretty regularly on a couple of my accounts - must of happend 10 times now!

    I asked google what was going on and they are "investigating".

    If I get a response I'll post it here.

    Getting to know what is CTR.

    Click Through Ratio (CTR) is the ratio of click-throughs to impressions for a given ad run. Short for click-through rate, the ratio of the number of times a user clicks on an online advertisement per number of viewers who view the Web site that has the advertisement on it. For example, if one out of 100 people who visit a specific Web site click on an advertisement and are taken to the advertiser’s site, then the CTR of that advertisement is 1/100, or 1% or if a banner has a CTR of 100:1, it means that 1 out of 100 people have clicked on it.

    Other definition

    CTR is “Click-Through Rate”. It’s a percentage that’s calculated by dividing the total number of times an Adsense Ad is clicked (Clicks) by the total number of times the Ad is shown (Page Impressions) .

    The CTR can be used to analyze and compare many aspects of an ad campaign.

    Measure the overall effectiveness of an ad campaign.
    If the CTR is only 0.01%, you might not be interested in renewing a given advertising package, or possibly you’d want to try to refine your link text or banner design to improve the CTR.

    Compare different campaigns.
    Perhaps you get a better CTR when using an animated banner instead of a static banner, or maybe your CTR is better when your ad is displayed on more relevant pages.

    Compare changes to a campaign over time.
    Is your advertising as effective this month as last month?

    How to calculate?

    CTR = Clicks / Page Impressions

    Example 1

    Let’s say you get 100 Adsense page impressions a day and your visitors click on your ads 10 times.

    The calculation would be:

    (10 clicks) / (100 Page Impressions) = .10 or 10% CTR

    Still not understand,see another example.

    Example 2

    For a given campaign over a given period an ad was displayed 1000 times and got 50 clicks.

    CTR = 50 / 1000
    CTR = 0.05
    CTR = 5%

    Thus, the CTR is 5%.:)

    It happens from time to time - 2 clicks from 1 impression. It's either because a click from a cached page is registering, or it's simply a temporary time-lag glitch

    I would love to know what niche you are advertising. $3.00 is a lot to pay for keywords.

    Couldn't this simply have been the ol 'right click'-->open in new tab or window.

    One page load but two clicks from the page. I often do this when I want to keep the original page open.

    Just a guess.

    Google adwords generally takes time to update. That's why you can see these type of things. Just give it some time, you will find it completely normal stats.
