I picked up TheWeatherService(.)Com yesterday at auction and need help figuring out if there is anything I can do with it? As a domain it is super keyword rich for weather related searches and gets pretty impressive marks as a search term on Google across the board. It also has some backlinks from what looks like a an old weather blog and currently attracts about 150 visitors a month. With that said, I can't think of a much to do with it. If you type "weather" or "weather service" into Google, you'll get tens of millions of returns, and plenty of free weather related services, but not one single paid advertiser. I searched for possible affiliates and there are a few that sell weather related equipment like barometers, but I don't think there is too much play in that. The only other idea I have is to offer some free weather feeds, slap up a forum, and try my luck with some poorly targeted AdSense banners, but that also doesn't seem to be worth the trouble. I guess ultimately I can always resell it to a warehouser as it is a pretty cool domain to have in a portfolio and somebody, someday, might have a use for it, but I'd much rather develop it myself if possible. Just an idea - develop some real good SEO content all weather related of course - drop in your AdSense code naturally, and then promote weather related clothing - like umbrellas, rain coats, boots etc. So the idea is that you give people helpful information on the weather and then you target areas, states or countries, that have bad weather and drop a line like - "Hey Chicago! Don't forget your umbrella today...check out these great styles!..." So people come to your site to be informed and find really cool stuff to buy. You can also target people with good weather and promote cool clothing as well. So the theme is to serve people in different weather conditions. I actually think this may be a niche but you could do some market research and find out.
Create a site that sell service for the people that want to buy the forecasted weather to their email. It a huge an untapped market. You can earn thousand from this if you do this properly
