    its strange

it all looked a bit fishy when i got the job
a lot of money offered, high time pressure

i thought, risk it. in worst case i have to sell the product somewhere else then.

then he PM´d me several times though the forum, his computer had problems he said, messenger broken.

finally he came on MSN and reviewed the work i did for him and sounded quite happy. then he disappeared again.

theres also not much to find about him, i found an abandoned youtube account ( http://www.youtube.com/shehanlovescricket ) and some traces in srilankan forums and a .NZ ebay-like site.

maybe he got hacked by a really nasty hacker who erased his online identity?

i can´t see the point why one would hire a coder and then disappear completely without even taking the work.

ofcourse i did not deliver, only showed the demo.

hopefully he comes back, it still was over 15 hours i invested.

Happy, in the first place, why did you put so much work when the buyer seemed fishy? You could have asked him to pay a part upfront to be sure that he has bought in on his idea.

On a serious note, do you think that this buyer will really give you $$$$ ? He wants to run a free hosting business. And you know how competitive is that market, and at the same time, the hosting service provider hardly can sustain the free hosting unless he is a established company that covers the cost in some other way.

There are many buyers who make impulsive decisions. At one moment, they want to have everything. Next moment, they want nothing of it.

@ rohan - thanks for your comments. freehosting is saturated, but if done right, can be highly profitable.

it seems like shehan´s account died on the DP database-crash. he now goes by the name akila.
he talked to me on msn just an hour ago, but somehow disappears all the time without notice. he may really have a computer full of malware, that keeps him from being on the internet. still strange.
