I am doing Off-page Optimization for my client site. But past i worked link exchange for another site through them i get more links. But i decreased my page rank. Is there any change in google algorithm.


How to improve my page rank for my client site.

Did you get those from related content rich and higher pr sites? Try to acquire links from them

 

Just build a lot of back links to your site.

 

Tool bar PR (TBPR) = Zilch. Try and get across this thought to your client. TBPR will not help him/her in anyway. I would prefer investing my time in getting more visitors and getting them to convert rather than go after TBPR.

One way thematic link building with the proper use of anchor text would help you to achieve higher rankings for the targeted keywords, which in turn should get you more visitors.

 

I think your back links are not qualify links. you build quality back links.

 

page rank depends so many factors not only one or two. so you have to improve different types ways..

try to do some link building work for your website.
update your content, put some uniq content
ect..

 

One reason why PR decreases is when you got a link from blacklisted sites or paid link sites. Be sure to have quality back link. Another thing, PR is not that really important. The important thing is traffic. And be sure to turn those traffic into sales.

 

Have you exchanged link with irrelevant sites. Better to focus more on getting backlinks from relevant sites and have high pagerank.

jzarante is correct, even though you have a PR4 or more but you only have an average traffic of 10 per day, then you won't earn anything from that site. PR puts you on top for the keyword u used, ofcourse you get traffic, but when internet surfers browse your site and found it of no use, your bounce rate will go up and there's a big chance that you won't top on the SE. If that happens, there will be no more traffic for your site. Be competitive, study your opponent.

 

Page rank always depend on the quality work in off page optimization. Like if you are doing link exchange with the relevant site and which have more pr then your site and having less then 30 links then surely it will give you a good page rank.

 

You need to get back links from quality web-pages with good content. Kindly do not concentrate a lot on the PR factor. Just try checking if the contents of the web-page that's giving you a link are authentic.

 

It's all getting to much, spending hours and hours getting links, most of my compettors are getting links faster than I am, so getting nowhere!!! Grrr
