    Hello,

I just started my blogging career and I would like to know if anyone has a detailed walk through on how to transfer a blog from one hosting account to another. I did some searches on Google, but didnt find anything that helped.

Any help is greatly appreciated. John

You can ask your new host, most times they will help you out in transferring your site. Otherwise, it's still fairly easy to do, I've never read the above link but it should help you out!

Its not that much hard to move your WP blog from one hosting to another. Just keep one thing in your mind that keep one back up copy of your 'home directory' and 'mysql Database' in your computer too.

All you have to do is move it and go into the database and change your base url in 4 different places. I forget exactly where but its quite simple and about a 10 minute procedure tops if you can get around phpmyadmin. Oh yeah, helps to change the db info in your config file as well. It will save a step unless you create the new database with the same information.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

Have you checked steps given here (mentioned by MTbiker in his post) ?

If you still confuse then better you hire someone else to do this job on behalf of you with little pay.
