Thanks debunked. I haven't done any of what you mentioned. When I click on the link to dl HJT, it won't connect. Geesh, circles and more circles. Hubby is gonna come look, hopefully he can figure something out.

LOL, now that I know you are a woman... (No I didn't pay that much attention to your username.) the most common way I see women get the viruses are from so called free screen savers or frilly mouse things... those always have at least spyware if not more attached.

OR opening up every cute thing that comes in your email.

(I probably offended someone, but I guess that happens when you generalize.)

A good little PC Spyware scanner/remover I have been using lately is Malwarebytes (the free version, never needed the paid for one tbh).

Honestly, what I would do is create a separate hard disk partition, about 20-25 GB's depending on the amount of stuff you have and move your IMPORTANT stuff on the separate disk partition. Then get out your recovery disk and make a CLEAN installation of the OS you have (I'm assuming it's either Vista or XP) and this will delete all of your other files on the same disk and you will have a new clean OS again. No viruses, etc..

Afterwards, you can move your stuff back into place. I did this before a couple of times to my laptops and other people's laptops too and loved it. I made good money doing it too. :D

hehehe, looks like you have a anti-virus/spyware try to scan your system with some free anti spyware software out there and after the infection is removed try to download CCcleaner and scan it again to gain back your systems speed.

Seems to be much better, thanks guys. "System Restore" wouldn't go, but hubby did a "PC Restore" (wherever that is). It blocked disc check, system restore, and even any sites like AVG (even by copy and paste url in).

I have Norton back on and I was able to get spybot S&D on. Then my pc restarted on its own... I said OH NO NOT AGAIN! But, spybot caught some registry changes (that I denied). I tested a search, and thankfully it didn't start all over again. (I was able to click on search results and go to them).

Thank you everyone for being so quick to try to help. Sometimes you gotta especially love DP.

@ debunked - I don't get offended easily :) Thanks for all your continued support in trying to get this fixed. Rep added.

@Zivem - really? I don't have to find that, but when we tried system restore, it wouldn't go. Had something similar happen about a month ago, and he did that too.

hvalle98 - Thanks. Seems ok right now. That seems a a bit risky when ya don't know someone though haha :) I'll keep it in mind, though.

Thank you, but if you read the whole thread you'd know it's fine now... and that system restore wouldn't go through. ;)
