I keenly looked at the blog but frankly doesnt seem very appealing to me. Its my opinion may be to someone it will be different.
The first site looks professional . The left and right column are nearly the same width and it is pretty new .
The blogs doesn't look like those created by a newbie. In fact everything was well done from the design, placement of ads and layout. The only thing missing is a logo/banner and favicon.
You should get a logo for the blog and change the color of the adsense ad in the header to match the theme of the blog.
