Yes and I think 1 century in every 5 matches would be enough for him to play next World Cup.:D

If he make the 1 century in 10 matches then also he will remain in the team.

Will Ricky Ponting break sachin's record of 100's and total runs in Test?? I don't think Ponting won't be able to break Sachin's record. I used to see Sachin opening every game of India but as soon he started getting older his Injury problem increased. Though he made the records he has gone through a lot of surgery.

Ponting will face the same scenario after some days. So I don't think Ponting will be able to break Sachin's record.

Also there is not much age difference and we that Australian cricket board will not give him more chances if he do not score. They are quick to replace players.

Can't say...Ponting is the only cricketer to have twice scored 1500+ test runs in a calender year ....if he gets in form, he may do it a 3rd time too....

I agree when you say that he may be sacked as the captain. But, he may still continue as a batsman, given his prolific record as one.

Personally, it is difficult to predict, but given Tendulkar's problems with injuries, because of which he remains more out of the team than in, Ponting has a reasonable chance of breaking the record (both centuries and runs in tests).

I don't think Pointing will be able to break the record. He still has a long way to go and Sachin is still playing well. :)
