GBP is getting worse by the hour at the moment so will have a big impact on UK sales. Imagine you have spent 30 mins reading a sales page, you are convinced by the coupon making it only $49 and then bam, clickbank want £35-40 Maybe we should just be glad we get paid in USD right now to compensate for the likely loss of sales.
"As a publisher/affiliate I dont like this at all. A $49 US product is now $83.99 AUD !! Ouch! This will make international conversions lower. " Yeah, but you can beat it right back by converting your USD to AUD and earning on the exchange rate. Also, Buy PPC in AUD and cash in USD and you are just fine!
i have always thought that actually displaying a foreign currency is a HUGE deal breaker. Guys, we are mostly marketers, but the average Joe does maybe not know he can pay in USD...living in EU. I cant see for the heck why this should DECREASE sales. Its geo-targeting, and each customer sees his very own currency. This is a good thing, i am also positive CB did test this before in terms of conversions.
The deal breaker is the exchange rate they use... looks like Paypal exchange rate which is about 5% (at least) too much. Then you add in the sales tax/VAT which is calculated on the higher amount and you end up paying a lot more than if you paid using USD and just let the bank add their own exchange rate.
i just checked my own CB product as an example. (First, i am shocked that the EU is already at $1.25, $ is really gaining against the EU in the last few weeks.) So...$67EU would equal $53.60...and on the purchase page i see EU55,60...so its not really that much off.)
