Please advise if this isn't the right forum to post this kind of question. There are so many successful web sites that are built and may be get several thousands or millions of visitors per month or so. These websites use the latest and greatest technology that is emerging and changing every day. I was wondering where from these people who implement these new technologies learn those technologies? I am not sure if they teach every one of them in school/college. So how do these websites do these great stuff? How do you quickly catch up with them? For example I came to know by accident that there is something called AJAX then tried to learn it over the web and implement it in my website. It isn't a perfect process. But somehow people seem to keep up with it all the time. I am interested to know how do you keep up with these and learn new stuff and implement them in your websites.
Well, you read the news. People who work on new technologies of any kind will make a public announcement about it and you'll hear about it. Then you go and see what's it all about.
Good idea. But how do those people who work on new technologies learn it in the first place? Did it suddenly pop up in their brains? Who are developing these new technologies? Is it Google and those other companies out there? In the 1980s or so the Universities were involved in the DARPA net or something like that and they were developing the technology for the internet at that time. So the universities were doing that job. Finally it got commercialized. The problem is by the time you get to know the new technology, it is already old ... it ain't easy...
then just listen to peoples needs/wants and they build on them ideas to make them, they first decide what the market needs then they suggest ideas then they will build on them ideas to produce the product.
