    Hello All!

    My name is Joe Ratliff. You will get to know me in short order in the online world, but in the offline world I am pretty well known in my local market area for writing effective business communications.

    Any tips for this newbie will be much appreciated, and as I do intend to contribute as much as receive, please do not hesitate to contact me for any advice. My background includes over 17 years of business management, coaching, and marketing experience.

    Hi Joe,

    My advice is pick an online mentor, or seo style, and stick with them. If you do not have a focus on your online education, then you might well end up gaining snippets of information from various sources that are contradictory. Online marketing is not 100% akin to offline marketing in its application (Although of course everything else is the same).

    When it comes to SEO it can be as much art as science so you really need to develop it. Which brings me to my second piece of advice DO IT! Set up a site and actually put into practice what you are learning, there really is no other way to learn quickly other than to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

    It's a year old but this advice is still very true. I always move forward at a much faster speed when I follow one mentor, not several.
