if they are expired/dropped you can just register them with any domain registrar, is that what you meant?

He would probably want a list of expired domains as well. And many expiring domains are auctioned off.

You can have a not bad list of expired domains here - http://bbs.bbs.ws/expired-domains/
If they are still free (most of them in fact are free), then you can register them via any registrar of your choice.

Yes, especially for dropped domain name check history of domain name because there might be possibility that the owner could have used the domain to spam or abuse and it is beyond to get repaired for SEO.

you can try to hand register or backorder via snapnames, namejet, pool and godaddy.

finding expiring names is a breeze with the Pending Delete Domain Watcher by IPalert too.

You can check the link in my signature. There, you will see lists of expiring domain names posted up every day. The lists are current and bang up to date.

You can also check out http://TasteDrop.com

To acquire dropping domains you could also buy the TasteDrop desktop software API application for a mere $70.00 - This piece of software is achieving excellent success and is rapidly gaining in popularity as an excellent drop catching tool.

You'll find more details and the owner of that software at the forum link in my signature - simply look for my co-admin's name - Expron.
