Hello designers! I'm looking for some new designs for my Nintendo inspired badge/button site and that's where I need your help. Due to copyright restrictions, all of our buttons need to be original pieces of artwork but can however be based on characters and objects found within Nintendo games. I'm looking for around 10 designs in total, and am willing to pay a reasonable amount of $'s via Paypal per selected design. Here are some badges to give you an idea of what I am looking for: The above buttons are themed about (from left to right): Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Animal Crossing and a general DS themed design (thanks to dsbuttons.com for supplying these examples). I am particularly looking for designs based on some of the top Nintendo games such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Metroid, together with clever simple designs such as the "I heart DS" example above. I run a team of artists who mostly do Concept work but a lot of them also do graphic design on the side.. I have sent a few of them your way so hopefully you will be receiving an email from them in the next few hours
I can create quality content for you but it would be helpful to me if you would post exactly how many $ you are offering per accepted design as I do not usually do spec work. Meaning, I do not do work in hopes of it being accepted and paid for. Usually the client hire me first after having seen work samples, that's usually how it goes. Anyway, even if I did send spec work to you I would have to water mark the images and you can't get a good look at them anyway. Thanks Sparx Media, although I still haven't received a PM from you yet...! Also, I appreciate your concerns TommyCharles, however due to the unique concept of my requirements I feel that I must see a sample before being able to hire any artist. In regards to price, this is very open to negotiation and I have paid prices between $5 and $60 in the past, but was very dependant on the quality of the work produced for me. If the artwork is good enough we will consider most prices for each piece we select.
I did this in 3D Studio Max and After Effects today, just for you . I put only a minimal water mark on it so note that copy write belongs to me . If that's not enough for you to decide then I can't help you This is just to demonstrate the quality, I can buttonize it later.
Thanks for the submission TommyCharles, however I am very unsure as to what exactly you did in 3D Studio Max, as that image of Mario was created by the very talented Pixeloo and those star images look far to similar to the first result in google images for "star mario", which is original art by Nintendo. It appears that you have just cut and paste the whole thing and added a few blur effect, which is very far away from what I am looking for. diandr4 (and other interested designers!), I am still looking for badge designs, and will be until I say otherwise! LOL! Maybe we used the same model. I took the stock image form Mario 64 and built the head in 3d Studio Max and then took it into a program called Project Dogwaffle for after effects, lighting, etc. The stars I did by hand. As to your assertion that I stole the images, I did not. But hey, this is exactly y I don't do spec work. You just accuse me of copy write infringement. I'll tell you then, since you don't seem to know. Any time that you request images similar to copy written material we have to use a reference. If two artists use the same reference and use similar methods to produce a new image they will look similar. Thanks for the feedback though, if it looks similar to the work of this very good artist then I know mine must be too . I'd be interested in meeting this guy, since we produced such similar results. Though I can't find his image anywhere. Anyway, hope you find what you are looking for, but you probably won't since your standards appear to be very high.

It would appear that some designers are getting the wrong idea about our requirements and what we are looking for, so here is a bit more information which should hopefully help you. The badges designs we are looking for must have a very similar style the those given as examples in this thread, and that is feature bold colours, a flash/vector style look, and feature the designers take on a character/object/scene from any Nintendo game. We as clients can suggest games to feature and possible character/objects/scenes to focus each design on, however we feel it is part of the designers job to add their own flair and style to it, whilst sticking to the requirements about it's look. As an example, if we were to suggest to you the game "Donkey Kong Country", we would hope that the design would feature something such as a barrel, a banana, a monkey-nut or a red tie (such as Donkey Kong wears). I hope that helps...
