No body tell Google Algorithm it is Google's secret, it does not disclose it. In seo every thing is on expectation and analysis. So do seo and get experience then you know what algorithm Google is using

Google is constantly updating their algorithm, and most often, we don't even know what the changes are until we see them take effect. The best thing to do is to keep reading sites like DP, seomoz, searchengineworld, promotionworld, and others so you always have the best information.

I personally think SEO is on the way out. At least that is what I am hearing by some of the top SEO marketing Guru's. I am sure many here on this forum will agree with me. It will be replaced by LSI and we may not have to worry about algorithms and the latest google update.

You are wasting your time by constantly trying to figure this out. I do agree with iLine.us you should spend some time reading the latest information on SEO, LSI and Googles indexing of websites.

Google's algorithm is secret. I don't think that anyone here could give you an answer. I hope you the best of luck.

    What's LSI?

Anyway, I agree that there really is nothing you can do SEO wise.

Keep making quality content, getting quality links, and that's it, really. Make sure your site is readable and easy to navigate, and that's all you need to worry about for SEO. There really is nothing amazing you can do that will improve your ranking dramatically compared to another website with same quality&quantity of articles

LSI is Latent Semantic Indexing. Bascially just a fancy term for "the latest and greatest way of getting your site(s) Indexed". This means your search results will be much more focused on what it is you are looking for.

The main algorithm is and will still a secret, however based on many experts trail run... learning from their mistakes they have already figured out how to rank their websites high in the SERP's..
The most important factors to rank websites in Google are:
    1- Quality Content
    2- Related Backlinks

Some experts think that Google will gradually shift to a strong emphasis on user behavior. This involves how much time users spend on a page, whether they book mark the page, whether they return to it again later, and whether they visit other pages on the same site. These behaviors could be clues to the quality of a page's content. Some think that Google created their new browser so that they will have better access to this kind of information.

Simple answer: No one really knows, though they keep trying. You pretty much have to deduce it yourself from your own findings as everyone's experiences are different.

People are being intellectually dishonest with all the "it's impossible to know what Google likes" talk. Sure, nobody here knows the exact formula Google uses, but we know what changes from time to time.

Anyone who follows Google has had several points where they realize "Google doesn't like this as much anymore." or "Google loves this now."

And I think that's what the OP means.

I learned so much from others to get my sites indexed at the top and then I tuned everyone out and started just following dozens of websites daily, where they rank, and what changed since the last shuffle. I did that because I realized Google changes often and the people who wait for others to explain the changes are always the last to get the benefits.. and then something changes and they have to wait again.

    To answer your question:

I think the emphasis on devaluing links coming from "bad neighborhoods" has been ramped up lately. Example: something that made me stop listening to others recently is I saw a thread on another forum where people were sharing some high PR .edu do follow blogs to post comments on. I added a link to one of my test sites and watched several of the other guy's sites that posted their links on the .edu blog.

Guess what? My test site and many (probably all by now) of the sites that were ranking OK and posted links on that blog tanked within the same time frame. Don't let your site get links from sources with links to people using grey/black hat methods. I'm sure there is a preventative method to keep people from de-indexing competition by posting links to them in bad neighborhoods, but who knows how it works. Just don't be in the heard on the way to the slaughter.

It also seems that Google is looking at what makes a good authority site in terms of function. I see more forums go up the ranks that aren't dedicated to one topic, but have a subsection for several niches. In the past, a lack of keyword density would keep them low.

Another thing that is different now is how much weight they give to anchor text and links from repeat types (all blog comments)/outter niche sources.

There was a time a few months ago where you could have a few thousand dofollow blog comments from whatever niche with the same anchor text and rank high in a competitive niche.. I wouldn't wager so today.

You'll never figure it out entirely, but you can at least get an idea of changes made. Be confident in your ability to figure things out if you want to make it online. If I listened entirely to the experts, I would have never thought that I could rank in the top 3 of a major major competitive niche with zero backlinks.

    Some parting truth:
Remember, existing gurus and successful internet marketers are where they are because of what they did in the past. Don't pay attention to the mechanics of what they did, as specific methods won't work forever. If anything, look at what traits they have that allowed them to get to where they are.

Online success stories of tomorrow will come from people with a strong drive and determination to succeed, not from people who did the same thing as everyone else yesterday.

LSI is what i have heard is the next big thing, Something to do with words that are similar or synonyms. At this stage i think you can still count on A) fresh quality content and B) Link building
