The way stumbleupon allows sponsored link after they approve , do you think yahoo answer will ever allow to post sponsored link in source after they approve it .

Also I do not understand why yahoo advertisement does not accept payment from paypal account without a credit card , or say from bank account directly simmilar to google adword ?

I don't think that they would allow such because they don't like to be abuse.

I am so consused when it comes to Yahoo answers. So you cannot put your url link in source box. How do you advertise? Do you just put it in your profile and hope people click all the way thru to actually see it? I see people putting links in the actual body of their answers. How does it work? Sorry if this question has been asked or the fact that I'm a total noob when it comes to YA. lol!!

Yahoo! Answers isn't designed to be a free advertising engine. It's supposed to be a public service.

The upside is that it makes for a good venue to demonstrate your expertise. You can include in-context links to articles or resources you've written, if they pertain to the question being asked.

Thanks for your feedback. When I said advertising, I wasn't referring to spam. I can completely understand why that would not be allowed. :) What I mean, is a link to your website in the form of a signature, kind of like forum signatures. Are these to be put in your profile only?

You can link to your services site from your bio. In fact, I strongly suggest it. If you're obviously an expert in your field, then you can get a lot of traffic from that alone.

The resources field is for citing your sources. Using it simply to promote a company constitutes abuse, and makes you look like any of the 100-something offshore spammers who frequent Yahoo! Answers (some of which I've also recognized in the DP forums - they inevitably don't know fuckall in DP or in YA).

So, while you technically can copy and paste a signature for each response, I'd advise against it. You'll get more quality exposure by being as professional as you can and only linking to your own information where appropriate.

YA can be a good source of content ideas, too, though! Take some time and see which questions appear most frequently in your field, and then make a blog post (or any sort of informational page) which deals directly with the query. Then every time you answer a similar question you can refer to your own material and get a lot of traffic that way.

You should say "Do you think" instead of "Will Yahoo ever".

Why? Does anyone here work at Yahoo?

You can actually post a link in there. But there are better places to submit your directory.

Because he was totally talking about directory submission and not Yahoo! Answer which serves an entirely different purpose.

    Reading comprehension, please.

Yahoo Answers is all about pumping Yahoo Traffic. The quality of the information is usually very poor. But people participate so it brings people to the Yahoo Network so they can get the emails and sell advertising.

Why would they want to let part of the profit go out the window, when there is ZERO benefit to Yahoo?
